    NEEM OIL, like many natural oils, has been studied for pesticidal qualities. Under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), EPA regulates all pesticides — including biopesticides — that are sold or distributed in the United States to ensure they are safe for humans and the environment.
    
    Although EPA has exempted some natural oils from the federal requirement for registration as pesticides, NEEM OIL is not one of the exemptions. Any company wishing to market a product containing NEEM OIL as a pesticide must first register their proposed product with the EPA. NEEM OIL is widely used as a pesticide and many firms have registered with EPA products containing NEEM OIL as a pesticide. However, each company wishing to bring to market a NEEM OIL product as a pesticide must obtain their own EPA registration, which HBNO® has not yet done.
    
    Hence, HBNO® does not endorse nor market NEEM OIL as a pesticide, nor make any claims to consumers and end-users as to its safe use as a pesticide. Our HBNO® NEEM OIL is not intended for use as a pesticide, but as a personal care and/or home care product.
    
    If your company is considering formulating and selling a product containing NEEM OIL as a pest control product, discuss with your legal counsel the federal EPA requirements for your product’s registration as a pesticide, as well as any state and local requirements.
