Under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), EPA regulates all pesticides — including biopesticides — that are sold or distributed in the United States to ensure they are safe for humans and the environment.
    
    Although EPA has exempted some natural oils from the federal requirement for registration as pesticides, Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil is not one of the exemptions. Any company wishing to market a product containing Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil as a pesticide must first register their proposed product with the EPA. Some firms have registered with EPA products containing Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil as a pesticide. However, each company wishing to bring to market a Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil product as a pesticide must obtain their own EPA registration, which HBNO® has not yet done.
